What is Old Mutual Unit Trusts?

A unit trust is a collective investment scheme, which pools contributions from investors who have the common objective to earn a return on their funds. The pooled funds are then used to purchase a portfolio of financial securities such as equities (shares), bonds, cash, bank deposits etc. The unit trust portfolio is managed by a professional fund manager, while the assets are held by a bank acting as a custodian.

A Unit Trust fund is made up of equal portions called units – which have a price called Net Asset Value (NAV). This price changes daily in line with market prices. The number of units that an investor receives depends on the amount invested and the price at which the units are purchased.

We offer two unit trusts, the Interest-Bearing Assets Fund and the Balanced Fund.
